I thought I would treat you to some of my finds for my new pinterest board. None of them my own discoveries, all re-pinned from other boards - my Organic Grey Folds board. I started to notice a series of images, black and white, grey, with all these folded, twisted and layered things, natural and synthetic, but all with an organic energy or feel about them. I've noticed quite a few are from 'The Vamoose", a blog which I have just discovered is another jeweller, blogging creative discoveries....there is something in this jewellry thing - I find myself more and more attracted to the idea.
The first - there is something that makes me think Lichen about this shoe. Imagine a fairy or a nympth,
or an elf out of the Lord of the rings, gently moving through the forest. The brilliance of Alexander Macqueen.
And then there is the grey and twisted timber, which surely must be driftwood - washed on to the beach, bleached, weathered.
Another weathered image. The Wave in Arizona. Twists and turns. I imagine this landscape is probably
quite orangey, but in this black and white photo it fits perfectly in this set.
Needless to say I won't be wearing a veil like this, but I certainly love the dance of fabric, the floating
and twisting.
As for this masterpiece.....quite phenomenal. The things Yiqing Yin can do with fabric astounds me!
Such talent!
And last but not least, the twisted yarn of Brooklyn Tweed. More brown than grey, and more modest
than the previous image, but still sumptuous and inspiring.
