Grateful for:

The end of a long day!  I'm grateful for the end of a long day, and being able to go for an evening walk in the quiet twilight with my dooog. The dustmeister.

It has been a long, hot and tiring day, and for only 24 days in, it feels like a long and tiring year allready. Did I say that I need a year off? Did I say that yet? I have so much in my life these days, it feels a little overwhelming.

A quiet walk at the end of the day which puts a wag in dog's tail is definately something to be grateful for.

Thanks to Maxabella loves for making me thinking of this gratefullness.

Patterning invites, inviting patterns

Wednesday's job (wednesday is a public holiday here) is to get cracking with the wedding invites. I have been slowly piecing together the ingredients for the design, and wednesday is the day to get it all sorted. I have been rattling around my brain trying to work out what to do about patterns and flourishes and stuffs (i love the word stuffs) and really had no clue, until I stumbled into one of THOSE shops, those SCRAPBOOKING shops.

Now scrapbooking is not my thing. It just is not!! Kind of like my aversion to the word crafty, and my love for the word craftsmanship. Some kind of creative snobbery. I'm not sure why the aversion to crafty and scrapbooking, given that
a: I am by no means a craftsman of any description (in fact just go ahead and call me jack (of all trades and master of none))
b: Some would argue (I am not and will never be one of the some) that scrapbooking is not that far from what you do with a sketchbook, and I was pretty dedicated to the sketchbook project (infact feeling a little lost without it).
c: I know there are people who create absolute scrapbooking wonders, and there is a real art to it.

Anyway, digressions and aversions aside, I ventured in to the SCRAPBOOKING shop,  and discovered patterns. Lots of patterns. All by a company called Kaisercraft.

So, with wednesday and invites in mind, I bought some. Not sure what I will do with them yet mind you...but If you have seen my bunting, and my hay bale covers, you might notice the 'brown' theme. I might be using them for inspiration, for actual somethings in the invite, who knows, who knows. But surely they will come in handy. And if not... well, there is always sketchbooking...hehehe!
